Tests for less common causes of orthopaedic symptoms may also be administered. The ultrasound-guided injections have the advantage of being a form of treatment as well as a diagnostic tool. In addition to hands-on exams, the most commonly used diagnostic tests for orthopaedic conditions are digital X-rays, arthrograms (to view joint space), MRIs, CT scans, discographies (to examine spinal discs) and ultrasound-guided injections.
